Finissage & Performance: Speculative Futures – Robotic Meditation featuring Kitana Project

Finissage and Music by Kitana Project
Interactive robotic sound installation by Joaquín Fargas
Exhibition on view: 28 August – 13 September 2026
Entry free

What happens when humanity can no longer protect its own future?
In Speculative Futures: Robotic Meditation, Argentine-Spanish artist Joaquín Fargas presents an immersive installation that combines robotics, sound, and speculative storytelling.

The work imagines a distant future in which humanity has entrusted its survival to machines. In the work’s original narrative, an artificial intelligence discovers a group of half-buried nanny robots, remnants of an intergalactic ark created to safeguard human embryos. Activated by the rising sun, the solar-powered robots slowly move their heads in a gesture of reverence, worshipping the source of their energy as ancient civilizations once did. Rather than offering answers, the installation invites us to reflect on artificial intelligence, ecological crisis, and the future of our species.

Finissage & Performance:

The final day of the exhibition will feature a live didgeridoo performance by Kitana Project, accompanying a final practice of Robotic Meditation. Visitors are invited to join the robots in a collective meditation, accompanied by a live musical performance, and become part of the artwork itself. No previous meditation experience is required—only curiosity and a willingness to slow down. Come and experience Speculative Futures together with us one last time.

About

Kitana Project began by shaping raw, powerful live sound through the didgeridoo, carrying rhythm and breath into intricate, beat-driven performances. From this pure foundation, her work has expanded into a fusion of performance art, feminist poetry, visual arts, and activism. Each performance is both personal and political, blending sound and image, movement and words, emotions and memories into a living expression of resilience, vision and empowerment.

Joaquín Fargas is an Argentine-Spanish artist and industrial engineer whose practice brings together art, science and technology. Since the early 2000s, he has incorporated digital media, communication technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence and biological materials into works that examine life, environmental fragility and possible futures. His projects often translate scientific ideas into poetic, participatory experiences, proposing hybrid ecologies and new dialogues between humans, machines and other living beings.
