Vienna and online
Everything you wanted to ask about the ongoing ecological and social uprisings in Serbia but never dared to ask! Join us for a hybrid session with Iskra Krstić (researcher, journalist with Polecol and masina.rs and activist for the Right to Water/Let’s Defend Balkan Rivers initiatives) and Tibor Meszmann (activist and researcher in organised labour and industrial relations), who will be with us in Vienna for a powerful live as well as online open classroom. We’ll hear from Iskra about the anti-extractivist and student led protests that have mobilized large parts of society in Serbia in the recent year, with about 1500 individual protests monthly in the country, and popular mobilisation through the roof – you might have heard that at one protest alone (15th of March in Belgrade) they had more than 5% of the population attending! Need a boost of hope and rage, and an occasion to stop looking west in despair? Join us!
You can come to Bikes and Rails (Emilie-Floege-Weg 4, 1100 Wien) or get a Zoom videocall link by registering here:
