Exhibition by Louise Deininger
opening: 15. Mai um 19:00
Finissage & artist’s talk: 28. Mai um 19:00
In Reclaim, Louise Deininger transforms the belly button — the universal scar we all carry — into a symbol of heritage, storytelling, spirituality, and identity.
Through this installation, Deininger invites us to view our scars not as wounds but as pathways to healing and empowerment. Celebrating ancestral knowledge and the strength inherited through generations, her work encourages forgiveness and transformation.
The belly button becomes a portal, connecting us to our ancestors and reminding us of the bonds that tie us to those who came before. Visitors are invited to reflect on their own scars — physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional — and reclaim their true nature, supported by ancestral wisdom and resilience.
Reclaim embodies the spirit of GLIMPSES: the intergenerationality of identity by exploring how personal and ancestral memory is carried through the body and rituals, transforming scars into sources of strength and celebrating intergenerational healing and identity.
A project by Ancestral Synonyms and KASAL in collaboration with eindorf.
