PLUMES is a solo sonic project of Joshua Churchill, a San Francisco based artist who works primarily with sound in the context of immersive site-specific installations and live performances, often blurring the line between the two. Using heavily layered guitar or bass in combination with field recordings and electronics, Churchill’s sounds rise, build, and crash like a blackened tide.Churchill also participates in a number of other San Francisco Bay Area projects, including live performances with experimental filmmakers Paul Clipson and John Davis, and as part of the atmospheric doom drone trio Riqis.

CORE OF THE COALMAN, the solo project of sound artist Jorge Boehringer, consists of continuity and discontinuity for viola, voice and circuits on theborder between order and chaos. Sonically diverse and at times explosive in texture, Core of the Coalman emphasizes the physicality of sound in its synesthetic relationships between ear, mind, and environment. Think of Tony Conrad meets Melvins meets an airport on another planet meets Skandanavia meets prehistoric underwater life meets Scelsi and it is still all wrong.

BIRD PEOPLE is a solo and collaborative project formed by Uli Rois in 2010. Rois uses a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments to create soundscapes centered around the drone but open to all possible ideas that may emanate from the void. Influenced by classic psychedelia and krautrock as well as different folk music traditions, the project also tries to explore the relation between music and performance space and setting. Recent releases include a split tape with A Story of Rats (March 2013, Feathered Coyote Records) and ?Water Buffalo? (April 2013, Sloow Tapes).
