ZIGZAG/II/TRUCK
Performance and activation of Queer Way
by Roberta Lima

Activation performance by Pêdra Costa & Mzamo Nondlwana

Sunday, September 7
meeting point at 6pm at Info-Bar-SYMPOSIUM
(right next at the exit of U2 Seestadt - lakeside exit)

We are excited to invite you to be part of the activation of the installation Queer Way by Roberta Lima.
LLLLLL, Verein für Kunst der Gegenwart was taking care of the Material of Roberta Limas work from 2022 after it’s last installation at studio das weisse haus.
In 2024 we were able to install Queer Way in Seestadt. On September 7 2025 we invite you all to join the performance of Pêdra Costa and Mzamo Nondlwana and their project Bicha Boo that finally will acitvate the Installation and show it’s vibrant energy.

Roberta Lima‘s idea of Queer Way as a “queer flow” aim to transcribe their own experiences as a migrant and gender non-conformist to the public. Lima describes their sculptures as static objects which can be set in motion through body interaction.

The message of Queer Way becomes even more powerful when Lima partners with Pêdra Costa and Mzamo Nondlwana and their project Bicha Boo to activate their installation at Notgalerie in Seestadt.

The performance “ZIGZAG/||/TRUCK” will mimic the movement of the sculpture throughout the space, inviting the public to join a parade and to follow the amplified sounds of the speakers.

The material captured during the performance will be integrated to an installation as part of the group exhibition at LLLLLLL Verein für Kunst der Gegenwart.

Roberta Lima is an Austrian Brazilian artist based in Helsinki. Lima uses different media to create installations exploring alternative narratives of body and space, intersections between nature and technology, mythology and gender nonconformity.

Roberta Lima has participated in international events, including the Cairo Biennale (2008), Donaufestival (2008 and 2016), Kyoto Experiment (2018), Vienna Art Week (2022), and solo exhibitions at the Coronet Theatre in London (2019 and 2023). Her works are featured in the Verbund Art Collection, the Austrian Federal Photography Collection, the MUSA Art Museum, and the Ursula Blickle Video Archive, among others.

In 2007, Lima received the “Akademiefreundepreis” and the “H13” Performance Award. In 2018, Lima was given the Austrian Citizenship based on my merit, accomplishments, and contributions to the nation.

Mzamo Nondlwana is a queer, non-binary artist from Johannesburg, South Africa, currently based in Vienna. Deeply invested in centering marginalized bodies and uncovering invisible knowledges, Mzamo’s interdisciplinary practice spans dance, performance, and sound. In 2006, they began formal dance training at Moving into Dance Mophatong in Johannesburg, where they laid the groundwork for a choreographic approach that privileges embodied storytelling. After relocating to Salzburg in 2009, Mzamo graduated from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) with advanced training in contemporary dance and choreography. Their work continues to challenge normative narratives while celebrating collective resilience.

Pêdra Costa is a groundbreaking Brazilian visual and urban anthropologist, queer performer, and tarot reader who utilizes intimacy to foster collective connection. Through their body, they craft fragmented epistemologies of queer communities within ongoing colonial contexts. Their projects aim to decode structural violence and transform failure by drawing on subversive ancestral and spiritual knowledges that have sustained anti-colonial survival across generations. Whether reading tarot individually, performing, or curating, Pêdra’s practice invites audiences into spaces of radical care, self-knowledge, and joy.
