This performance questions gender and sexual politics, focusing on the personal and on community. In 2008 Xray Aims started to research laws and rulings about people and sex/kink/bdsm. In ‘I consent’ this material is brought in relation to what has been a kink/fetish in BDSM culture. The piece questions current methods of consent, and challenges societal taboos. Xray Aims collaborate one-on-one. They use hypodermic needles to pierce the skin of collaborators.
Participants:
Xray Aims (piercer), Ivy Charis (piercee), Em Schwarzwald (reading)
‘I Consent’ was first performed at “Come As You Are” on October 25 & 26, 2009. It was part of the ?Out on the Edge Festival? that The Theater Offensive had.
