About the workshop:
This computer music workshop investigates real-time DSP, adaptation, and cybernetics for the implementation of elementary autonomous sonic agents in live performance practice. After a brief theoretical introduction to cybernetics, we will discuss and implement low-level information processing algorithms for feature extraction and classical DSP units. These will be coupled in recursive architectures to enable musically informed self-modulation. In addition, the workshop will cover the basics of lookahead limiting as a stability-processing criterion in self-oscillating digital feedback systems.
