What constitutes the self? Philosophers, scientists, artists, biologists, even you and me, are dealing with that question on a daily basis. Is it the soul that makes up our personality? Are genes responsible for our individuality? Does the genius identify an artist? Is it the mind that makes us a conscious human being? A person?s identity can generally be defined as the totality of one?s selves; the belief we have about our self; and the presentation of oneself to others. What is more, our past and future selves are always in relation to our current selves. Finally, the collection of all our different selves is what embodies the answer to ?Who am I??
