THE TÜWI SOMMERFEST IS BACK AND THIS YEAR WE’RE CALLING IT A SOMMERFESTIVAL! NOT IN TÜRKENSCHANZPARK THIS TIME, BUT IN & AROUND TÜWI AND ON THREE WHOLE DAYS INSTEAD OF ONE!

PROGRAMM 04.06.:

KINDERPROGRAMM: KLANGMÄRCHEN „Sahel trifft Taklamakan” (nur bei Schönwetter) von Jam Fusion |16:00–16:30 Uhr | Treffpunkt: Türkenbrunnen im Türkenschanzpark, Nähe Eingang Ecke Peter-Jordan-Str./Dänenstraße | Sprache: Deutsch
Der Name „Sahel trifft Taklamakan” vereint symbolisch zwei Wüstenregionen – die afrikanische Sahelzone und die chinesische Taklamakan-Wüste – und steht für die Begegnung unterschiedlicher Kulturen durch Musik und Geschichten. In unseren Klangmärchen nimmt ein großer Pandabär junge Zuhörer*innen von 4 bis 8 Jahren mit auf eine zauberhafte Reise, die uns in den chinesischen und den westafrikanischen Kulturraum führt. Spielerisch lernen die Kinder die Unterschiede, aber auch die Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den verschiedenen Kulturen zu entdecken. Interaktive Mitmachaktionen machen das Programm zu einem lebendigen Erlebnis, das Neugier weckt, Fantasie anregt und Horizonte erweitert. Begleitet wird die Veranstaltung von den sanften pentatonischen Klängen der afrikanischen Harfe N’Goni sowie von Trommelrhythmen, die der Lesung eine besondere musikalische Tiefe verleihen und ferne Welten zum Klingen bringen. Neben neuen klanglichen und visuellen Eindrücken lernen die Kinder auch praktische Elemente wie Begrüßungen und Zählen auf Chinesisch und auf Fulfulde – der Sprache der Nomaden in der Sahelregion – und den Umgang mit Essstäbchen.

Using colours, water, oils and chemicals you’ll create organic visuals reminiscent of lava lamps, planets or soap bubbles. A colourful mess – come check it out!

A themed walk through Türkenschanzpark – get to know edible herbs and tree species for eating, teas or other witchcraft.

Tuuuuuurn up! Once again the little white balls will be carried by a lot of cheers ALL LEVELS, random doubles, no prior registration needed, max. 6 games per person. Get your game pass at Hofladen, Dänenstraße 4. Start: 1:00 pm, late registration until 4:00 pm. Fixed FLINTA* spots in the k.o.-phase. This time we’re playing on 8(!) tables in and around Tüwi so everybody who wants to play, can play! To qualify for the k.o.-phase, win a minimum of 4 games in the opening round — return your game pass at Hofladen by 5:00 pm and be present at 5:20 pm. Let’s treat each other with respect and let the balls fly

N’KO means „I say“, and before the bass drops, the drums speak first. The TÜWI-based N’KO Drum Group bridges the gap between day and night with an immersive introduction to authentic West African rhythms and percussion. Feel the pulse of the community before the dancefloor takes over.

DANA @dana_pourra | 8:00 pm
Dana is a Vienna-based DJ and part of boosterclub collective. Blending techno, trance and hardgroove with oriental melodies inspired by her Kurdish-Persian roots, she creates driving sets full of dynamic energy. Expect a bouncy bass with versatile melodies to shake your booty to.

ADI BABA @adibabainspace | 9:30 pm
Adi Baba in space has found her home crew Journey to Tarab in Vienna. Her sets combine a good dose of bounce and bass, housy vibes, and funky vocals, creating a cheerful festival atmosphere. Join her on a journey full of driving sounds through Tech House, Minimal, Bass House, Deep House, Funk and Disco!

Baby Blue and Pau:sa combine driving grooves and a shared love of club culture. Between hardgroove, trance and speed house, an energetic sound emerges, shaped by diverse influences.
