For its third edition, TecTales invites the artists and filmmakers Lydia Nsiah, Eva Egermann and Cordula Thym, as well as the performer and artist Federico Protto aka fe and the composer and harpist Urška Preis aka rouge-ah.

How do we want to live together? In times shaped by ecological collapse, social inequality and ongoing wars, the need for new concepts of solidarity and responsibility is growing stronger. This evening is dedicated to artistic voices that challenge dominant narratives and open up alternative visions of representation, care, and belonging.

In her short film trilogy techno, Nsiah takes viewers on a (time) journey through underrepresented sci-fi cinema, using memory as a tool to rethink both the future and the now. Through a powerful audio-visual composition, a radical and poetic perspective unfolds.

With C-TV (If I Tell You I Like You…), Egermann and Thym envision a new media reality to reimagine access and visibility. In a surreal and utopian TV world hosted by a plush hamster, ableist and heteronormative structures are dismantled. Through interviews and performances, their guests propose playful and resonant forms of agency.

fe conjures a shamanic atmosphere where voice serves as both healing and weapon. Through minimal beats, drones and natural sounds, they offer an intimate and immersive experience that explores love and kinship through a queer, cross-continental lens.

Composer and harpist rouge-ah, uses acoustic and electric harp with effects to craft soundscapes ranging from delicate tones to fierce distortion. Their work explores dreams, nightmares, and sleep disruptions, tapping into the emotional charge of memory and imagination.

TecTales is a multidimensional screening event at discotec, organized by Tina Kult. The event presents significant positions in contemporary video art and, alongside discotec’s regular exhibition program, creates a dedicated and communal space where moving images can be experienced in their full length. TecTales also features a curated lineup of notable musicians and sound performers, accompanied by a culinary program, providing a platform for lively discussions and interactions.
