“How does one capture an inevitable fall? How does confettï stop in midflight so one can observe it, study its roundness, admire the singularity of each one of its parts in the middle of the haze? Luftpünktchen / Air dots is an exploration of these questions, where dots are suspended in the air and forever continue to dance. “

Carolina Magis Weinberg is an artist of sight and site, aiming to discover the multiple dimensions of invisible space, the stories that conform absence, the gestures of a monument, the movement of a center. She is intrigued by the landscape and how it can be politicized and monumentalized through the analysis of certain phenomena, such as snow, rain, and sunshine.

In 2017 she obtained a dual graduate degree in Fine Arts (MFA) and Visual and Critical Studies (MA) from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco.

Her Visual Critical Studies thesis “Accenting Rivane Neuenschwander” discusses the concept of the accent as pertaining to the field of visual arts.

Since February 2022 she teaches at La Esmeralda, the main undergraduate art program in Mexico.

She is currently studying a PhD in Fine Arts at the School of Art and Design, UNAM.

Carolina Magis Weinberg lives and works in Mexico City.
