Performance by Mary Magic | Opening Invocation by Christian Liclair
From Hans Baldung’s simmering witch-cauldrons to contemporary rituals, this evening traces a lineage of occult practices that understand knowledge as something brewed, not declared. In Mary Maggic’s new performance for PART, stickiness becomes both substance and method—an unruly, viscous mode of sensing and thinking together.
Working with the invasive kudzu plant, Mary Maggic invites participants into an alchemical process where materials thicken, blur, and resist clear form. Blindfolds may appear; meanings may shift; textures will insist on their own agency.
An evening of shared viscosity and tentative conjuring—where disobedient matter sets its own terms, and we follow its currents.
Christian Liclair is writer-in-residence at PART. Mary Magic is an artist and researcher whose participatory „workshopologies“ explore permeability, ecological crisis, and collective strategies of world-making.
