HAUSCH X GORDILLO

By establishing a bridge between the audio and visual domains Cora Leli Hausch (sound) and Gabriela Gordillo (light) aim to channel spectres of spaces between and beyond, bringing forth a multi-sensory compound that offers a third spatiality: not quite here, not quite there, but both and neither at the same time, their set is forming a differential that is flickering in and out of existence.
Here, multichannel can be understood as something more than merely spatial audio: multiple channels for the senses form imaginary suggestive spaces that cross sensory borders, revealing liminal layers that are lingering in reach, overlaying each other, but needing interplay and reciprocity („synchresis”, michel chion) to become actualised and experienceable.

Cora Leli Hausch (she/her) is a sound and media artist and graphic designer, head of the label Moozak, and occasionally active in the organizations Echoraeume and XOK. She holds an MA for architecture from the Technical University of Vienna, where she investigated the relation between sound and space from an architectural and artistic perspective. As a coder she also contributes to the open-source music software ppooll. In her sound performances, she primarily explores sound as physically perceived and different states of matter between tension and discharge. She works almost exclusively with synthetic sounds, feedback, and spatial sound techniques. As a curator, she is responsible for the design and execution of well over 100 events and numerous record releases.
