ppooll
ppooll is a collection of audio modules, which can be arranged into an individual instrument.
it’s a versatile, fully customizable toolkit that facilitates audio manipulation, granular synthesis, modular networking, ambisonics and much more. it is used for live performance, improvisation and installations. ppooll is in a continuous state of development, and we welcome contributions and suggestions from all users.
ppooll was created around 1999 by klaus filip. currently it is maintained by joe steccato, klaus filip & cora hausch.

ppooll convention
ppooll convention is an international gathering of musicians and programmers who work with the open-source framework ppooll—a modular software tool for live improvisation with Max/MSP. The convention provides a space for exchange, further education, and joint research into new forms of collaborative electronic music. As part of an event on October 30 at the MDW Klangtheater, international guests and local artists will use ppooll to create unique, spontaneous soundscapes. The concert evening will allow a wide audience to experience the creative and collaborative energy of the ppooll scene and showcase the artistic diversity that can arise from the free use of software.
ppooll convention is a cooperation of moozak, aesr – applied/experimental sound research lab, elak – lehrgang für elektroakustische und experimentelle musik, mdw – universität für musik und darstellende kunst wien and echoraeume.
