Performative Talking by Pêdra Costa
“decolonizing my (queer brazilian) body through performance art: a case study?
Pêdra is coming out regarding a performance s/he did in Brazil, in 2010, in a small town called Natal, or “Christmas”, in English. The performance had no name, and was thus “untitled”, but it became known as the “Rosary Performance”. In this speech, Pêdra shows the video, the death threats and all of the political, artistic and religious reactions that the performance brought to light.

Pêdra Costa is a Brazilian Performance Artist and Anthropologist. S/he is currently doing a Diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and working with queer immigrant artists internationally. Hers work is informed by the aesthetics of post-porn and an investigation about decolonial concepts.

BABE2: NOT YOUR BABE by Barbis Ruder
BABE2 is a response to todays pop culture. It shows the fake self-empowerement by explicit movement, food porn and status symbols. She is pink. She is not a baby-girl, but a babe. And she owns it.
BABE2 is a part of the stage Performical ?Barbis in Babeland? which was premiered in May 2016 in WUK performing arts, Vienna.

Barbis Ruder, born in Heidelberg, Germany,
2015 Mag.art. in transmedia art/Brigitte Kowanz at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna (Austria)
Barbis Ruder grew up in Heidelberg, Erlangen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kerava (FIN) and Hinterzarten. After living, studying and working in Freiburg (D), Helsinki (FIN), and Breda (NL), she went to Vienna (A) to start working as an artist.
Barbis Ruder uses her body and her artificial corporate bodies to mix topics like economy, work, intimacy and convention into complex compositions that take shape in performance, installation, video and sculpture.
Barbis Ruder is co-initiator of various artist groups such as Nachtgestaltungslabor, date-an-artist, Magistratsabteilung für Männerkultur and the glam pop band What?s Inside a Girl.
She lives and works in Vienna.
