cherish
For what comes after the door — it is a world of water,
weaving into shifting forms, weaving into our shadows.
No above and no below.
Where I encounter the other within myself,
I find fragile threads of memory and fragments of tradition.
No mine and no thine.
A boundless expanse of unprecedented uncertainty.
In that reflection, I will recognize you,
and I will cherish you.
[cher-ish]
verb (used with object)
1. to hold or treat as dear; feel love for.
to cherish one’s native land.
2. to care for tenderly; nurture.
to cherish a child.
3. to cling fondly or inveterately to.
to cherish a memory.
NOUSHIN REDJAIAN
(1988, Graz – lives and works in Vienna) studied Fashion/Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Bernhard Willhelm and Hussein Chalayan, Graphic&Printgraphic under Jan Svenungsson, and Transmedia Art under Brigitte Kowanz.
Inspired by cultural history and poetry, Noushin Redjaian explores the natural beauty of materials and their symbolic meaning. Her work engages with the transcendent nature of symbolic language and its preservation, creating objects and sculptures that connect past and future. The result is a sense of perception between premonition and memory – a world of hidden symbols and ciphers that allude to the regional and cultural grounding of each artifact.
