The duo featuring Christian Wolfarth and Enrico Malatesta is active since spring 2009 and works in the field of contemporary and improvised music. Keeping the aleatoric process as a point of departure to create and think of music, the duo works in a specific instrumental area where simplicity and composure are foundations from which to expand the possibilities of percussion instruments in instant compositions full of identity and character. Strictly acoustic, this project wants to deepen the use of percussion as multiple sound sources: the resonances, the ghost sounds and the extreme care for gesture and detail represent the fulcrum of a sonic action which does not miss the physical element of percussion instruments, but rather uses a refined dynamic, where the condition of silence plays a leading role. The influences can be traced in contemporary, improvised and drone music. The first album by the duo, “Mirrors”, was published by the Italian label Presto!?Records.
