opening days: 06.11. – 07.11.2026 4 – 7 pm
With their audiovisual live performance developed for discotec, STATION ROSE will dissolve the boundaries between the exhibition space, the street, and the place where the original STATION ROSE began. Located at Margaretenstraße 26, the original STATION ROSE marked the starting point of the art scene in Vienna’s 4th district in 1988, just a stone’s throw from the location of discotec. With the intervention Neighborhood 26, we aim to reconnect with and revive this pioneering spirit.
The sound of the new digital work will fill the space, creating an immersive experience in the unique style of Elisa Rose and composer Gary Danner.
The installation will feature works from 1988 but also a select number of recent works in blue denim. Associated with pioneering spirit, California and digital culture, unisex fashion, and durability, denim also embodies the darker sides of contemporary production: excessive water consumption, exploitation, and environmental pollution.
Elisa Rose’s current preferred material, denim will unify the installation’s visual language. The project will bring together unique, re-materialized artworks, including stitched canvases bearing patterns translated from the audiovisual composition, alongside a small number of virtual sculptures realized through 3D printing.
