Mining Megalithic Memories: Imperceptible Presences brings together two ongoing projects by Francesca Aldegani and Dominika Glogowski, developed through artist residencies and research journeys in Sardinia, Portugal and Kosovo. The exhibition presents video, textiles, photography, and installation.
Megalithic structures enter into dialogue with mining ruins, ancient ritual sites, and sites of active conflict, national aspiration, toxic aesthetics, and current extraction. The connection lies in traces that escape documentation: presences buried in geological strata, encoded in ritual memory, or dispersed as invisible contamination across landscapes and bodies. Aldegani and Glogowski’s works open a conversation around the acts of not-grasping, forgetting, and looking away, questioning what a sensitive and caring ethical navigation might look like, while anchoring materiality as haptic memory in the present.
