Melanie Baltacis

Melanie Baltacis’s work spans a wide range of artistic practices. Addressing groups as diverse as babies and elderly visitors, her artistic approach might be characterised as participatory, co-forming art practices. Most recently, she has designed wall-mounted objects resembling abstract paintings that can be perceived both haptically and audibly, inviting children to actively participate in their creation and to gain their first multisensory experiences with art.

With her installation, ‚durch dich hab ich mich zum leuchten gebracht’, Melanie Baltacis marks the conclusion of our 2025 programme, closing the year’s circle, as she was also the first artist to exhibit from January to February. In this installation, she engages with and explores the possibilities of an object that emits light, bringing a little extra shine to the long winter nights.

The immersive installation at the GREY ROOM STUDIO can be visited by appointment and will remain on view until 28 February 2026.
