To Please, To Serve, To Obey, an art book by Serbian visual artist Marina Marković,
bringing together an extensive cycle of drawings created between 2020 and 2024.
The publication offers an insight into one of the central bodies of work in Marković’s recent artistic practice, in which the body and embodiment are key themes of artistic exploration. Through drawing, performance and other media, Marković investigates the complex relationships between desire and control, pleasure and restriction, vulnerability and power, obedience and resistance.The book features texts by Dušica Popović, Dimitrije Kokanov and Sabrina Tamar. Designed by Stefan Unković, it is published by X VITAMIN Gallery.
The presentation will include a conversation with Marina Marković in English, followed by a book signing.The publication will also be available for purchase at the event.

Marina Marković (Belgrade, 1983) works across drawing, performance, video and installation. Her work is part of the collection of macLYON – Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon, as well as numerous private collections internationally. She teaches Performance Studies at the Faculty of Media and Communications (FMK) in Belgrade and is currently pursuing a PhD in New Media at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. She lives and works between Belgrade and Paris and is represented by X VITAMIN Gallery.
