MARILA SCARTOZZI: But it only happens to whoever has a body
Solo Exhibition
VIN VIN is pleased to present Marila Scartozzi’s first solo exhibition in Austria.
Marila Scartozzi’s practice explores relationships, subjectivity, and female desire through the metamorphic possibilities of the body. Combining the evanescence of ink with the density of oil paint, she creates figures suspended between heightened carnality and gradual transfiguration, bringing together passion, loss, ecstasy, and metamorphosis. Her paintings blur the boundaries between the real and the fantastical.
Backgrounds become atmospheres, while nature grows amid human ruins, reconnecting what has been separated. Hides, hair, skin, and canine teeth unite the human, animal, and natural worlds in a process of continuous regeneration, generating tensions between fear and tenderness, familiarity and estrangement.Drawing on fairy tales, myths, and dreams, Scartozzi reworks familiar symbols to question established roles and figures. Her narratives unfold in suspended times and places, preserving their mystery while opening onto possible futures.

GAIA GASPARETTO
Solo Presentation at CONTRAPPUNTO
the project space of VIN VIN, Vienna
Gasparetto’s practice explores organic and symbolic subjects suspended between destruction and regeneration. Set within metaphysical landscapes of arid earth and burning skies, these forms bear the traces of an unseen, purifying fire—a transformative force connecting the earthly and spiritual realms.Through painting and sculpture, the artist evokes a lucid descent into the unconscious, seeking to move beyond the limits of the self. Symbolic imagery and chromatic and formal tensions create an atmosphere of introspection and quiet unease, inviting viewers to confront the tension between the desire for transcendence and the finite nature of human existence.
