This long-duration performance is an open invitation to explore the morning hours of the river Danube together in a canoe. Each morning at 7 am and for the whole duration of Klimabiennale Wien, the artist Nikolaus Eckhard and the canoe Mae Young will be waiting at the Danube to welcome people for a joint ride. Together we will explore some of the waters, stones, animals, poisons, extractivist ideas and colorful waves that form the river basin of Vienna. Floating on the steam we will exchange river stories, ecological knowledge, tea, rowing strokes and ideas on reciprocity. - Or we will just sit and listen to the Danube. The Canoe Mae Young holds up to 6 people. In case of more people wanting to join there will be a second canoe for further 4 people ready. The project will provide each participant with a safety west and almost each with a paddle. The ride will take between 90 and 120mins and will start and finish at the Peace Pagoda Vienna. In case of storm or flooding we will alternatively stay on land.
