In this workshop we will focus on the new livecoding language zwirn and how it can be used for networked, collaborative creation of music.
Zwirn has been developed over the past few years taking inspiration from existing languages such as TidalCycles and Strudel. It’s simple syntax allows for great modularity and a high degree of abstraction making it an interesting tool both for improvisation and algorithmic composition.

Using the browser-based editor flok, participants interact on the same document simultaneously and execute code in real-time remotely on their own laptops. The focus lies in explorative interactions within the possibilities language provides to create music as a networked ensemble.

At the end of the workshop will be a public livecoding session that serves as a playground for further explorations.

Sunday, 12 April, 20:00– 22:00 (Public livecoding session)

Requirements:
Zwirn is a beginner friendly language.
No prerequisites in programming or music needed.
Bring your own laptop.

20 € per person
