LAVA is an international exhibition featuring artists from Mexico, Chile, Spain, and Austria, exploring body, memory, materiality, and collective forms of care through ritualistic, performative, and multimedia practices.
Curated by Mayte Valencia and Mario Wandu, the exhibition presents works by Guadalupe Aldrete, Daniel H. Pineda, Teresa Margolles, Cuaco Navarro, Blu Pedra, and Mario Wandu, fostering a dialogue between artistic perspectives from the Global South and contemporary European contexts.
Through performance, installation, video, sound, and hybrid media, LAVA activates ancestral knowledge and opens spaces for social resonance and collective memory. The opening features live artistic interventions, including contributions by the internationally renowned Mexican artist Teresa Margolles, whose work has been presented in major museums and biennials worldwide.
