Kunst&Kontakte: Holding eachother up

#ArtistPicnic #Solidarity #ASpaceToGather

Come spend the afternoon with us in the park.

Holding Each Other Up – Practices of Care is an invitation to slow down together for a few hours: to sit in the grass, breathe, listen, meet new people, share food, exchange experiences and spend time with one another without pressure to perform, explain or produce.

Together with artist, filmmaker and activist Susana Ojeda, we want to create a temporary space for conversations, music, curiosity, laughter, rest and collective presence. A space where we can arrive as we are — joyful, tired, overwhelmed, hopeful, uncertain — and remember that we do not have to carry everything alone.

Somewhere between a picnic, an artistic gathering and a shared pause, we ask:

What helps us continue in unstable times?
How do friendships, humour, art, music and small everyday gestures help us stay connected to ourselves and to one another?
How can we hold each other up while navigating political pressure, exhaustion and uncertainty?

Rather than formal discussions or polished answers, the picnic opens space for spontaneous encounters, collective reflection and moments of joy, vulnerability and connection.

Because care can also look like this:
sharing snacks in the sun, laughing loudly, listening carefully, lying in the grass, meeting someone new, dancing together, or simply taking a deep breath beside other people.

Hosting and co-creation: Zoe Gudović, Gudrun Schmidinger (Kultursommer Plus) & Susana Ojeda.

Zoe Gudović
A transdisciplinary artist, author, feminist, and activist from Belgrade, based in Vienna. Since the 1990s, she has worked at the intersection of art and activism, addressing violence, care, class, and feminist and queer emancipation through performance, installation, sound, and participatory formats. She is the author of Personal Lexicon: Lesbian Artists of the Post-Yugoslav Space ± Generation X and creator of long-term projects including Toilet Installations, the Drag King persona Zed Zeldich Zed, and the feminist radio show Ženergija.

Susana Ojeda (COL/AUT – she/her) is an artist, filmmaker, anthropologist and activist working across decolonial and ecofeminist practices through film, installations, workshops and rituals.
