Kottie Paloma / Lydia Maria Pfeffer

We are delighted to invite you to the annual studio gathering hosted by Kottie Paloma in collaboration with Lydia Maria Pfeffer.

This marks the third consecutive year of the open studio event, now expanded to celebrate Lydia Maria Pfeffer’s new studio in our shared courtyard. The occasion serves both as a warm welcome to Lydia and as an opportunity to offer an exclusive preview of the works we have each been developing over the past several months.

You are warmly invited to join us at our studio complex in Floridsdorf, Vienna, for a family-friendly afternoon of art, refreshments, and live music.

Lydia Maria Pfeffer is a Vienna-based artist whose practice explores psychological strategies, cultural symbolism, and ritual. Her paintings and drawings construct immersive worlds where escapism becomes a form of revelation and queerness a pathway to healing. Drawing on fables, folklore, and mythology, her work brings forth a cast of anthropomorphic and fluid characters navigating themes of identity, desire, and belonging. Central to her recent work is a focus on the feminine—challenging historical narratives shaped by patriarchal structures and reclaiming stories of power, transformation, and resilience.

Kottie Paloma—who has lived and worked in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Berlin before settling in Vienna in 2023—has built an international reputation for work that confronts the darker undercurrents of contemporary society. Across painting, sculpture, and drawing, his practice is marked by a loose, urgent hand and a pared-down visual language, often restricted to just two colors. His figures, at once archetypal and confrontational, resist passivity and invite direct engagement.

His art has been exhibited at Saatchi Yates, in London, Rutkowski 68 in Paris and Cologne, Night Gallery in Los Angeles, Andrea Festa in Rome as well as many other international galleries. He is currently in the two-person exhibit “Bend Sinister” at Schönfeld Gallery in Brussels.

We kindly ask you to RSVP by Thursday, May 28 via email reply or WhatsApp at +43 670 2017498.

We look forward to welcoming you.
