For the final weeks of the Vienna Climate Biennale, the FUTURAMA°LAB and its artists Rainer Prohaska & Kilian Jörg will be using what the organisers have named the “Small Woods” on the grounds of the Nordwestbahnhof as a space for our installations.
For safety reasons, this wood and the suggested autonomous living space will be separated from the surrounding “environment” by a protective wall, consisting of yellow concrete formwork beams. The further development of the TAR thus invites humorous reflection on concepts such as safety, protection and shelter in the 21st century threatened by climate collapse - with an open invitation to participate in the construction of the fluid structures of the buildings.
Radical Camping: On 4th July, the protected space of YELLOW PROTECTION will receive a visitor. KOLLEKTIV KAORLE from Vienna’s 16th district is moving into the “Small Woods” for a week and will surprise us with an experimental camping situation. A hybrid of the existing installation, the T.A.R.*, and the living space design of KOLLEKTIV KAORLE will be created at Nordwestbahnhof.
*T.A.R. is an intervention taking place on the grounds of the Nordwestbahnhof railway station as part of the KLIMA BIENNALE WIEN. The FUTURAMA°LAB has created an experimental autonomous living space there that is dedicated not only to human visitors but also to other diverse city dwellers.
