Harvesting Otherwise

A gathering co-organized by the PEEK Research Project Harvest Rituals: A Call for Visitation (FWF) at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Institute for Collective Place Leadership at Teesside University.

How do we cultivate and share knowledge through our relationships with land, communities and one another? Harvesting Otherwise, the multi-format EARN Gathering 2026, explores harvesting as a mode of knowledge production. It is hosted by the FWF-funded PEEK research project “Harvest Rituals: A Call for Visitation” at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in collaboration with the Institute for Collective Place Leadership at Teesside University. The gathering’s contributions consider how knowledge emerges through local ecologies, communities and relational practices, challenging extractive paradigms and foregrounding reciprocity, care, ancestral lineages and other-than-human temporalities. Formats include storytelling circles, listening sessions, film programmes, workshops, conversations and spaces for reflection. The gathering is open to all, and no registration is required.
