Ibrahim is twelve. He lives with his mother and five siblings of all ages in a two-roomed shack somewhere in the desert away from the village. Aside from feeding the children and obtaining a birth certificate for them, the prior preoccupation of Ibrahim and his mother is to build a house in the village so they don’t have to walk all the way back and forth everyday. And in the end they manage to build and move to their new house in the village.
Winner of the Best Film Award in the Eastern FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL Vista section at Fajr International Film -r- Fatim Festival, competition entry at Busan, Filem’on, Ajyal, BUFF, etc., and official selection of Glasgow FF, ASTEROID has been one of the most debated Iranian films in the international scene in 2021-22.
