March 30-April 27, 2024 (Exhibition)
Opening: March 29, 6-9pm
Pech is pleased to present the third cycle of Café Transversal by Javier Carro Temboury.
Café Transversal takes place as an itinerant cycle. It was developed firstly in Villa Belleville, Paris in June 2023, and was the subject of an exhibition and a residency in the Palais d’Iena, Paris in November 2023.
On March 16th, 2-7pm, a precursory event will take place in the form of a on-site café. The exhibition opens on March 29, 6-9pm.
“Javier Carro Temboury’s first step is research. At flea markets or through random encounters, he starts by collecting ceramic vessels and objects. Questioning their use and utility, bearing the marks of different eras and places, these objects speak, in subtle ways, of the people who held them, touched them, made them, but also of the notion of effort and labour… His sculptures question how we receive and understand the culture of others, and combines a conceptual approach with a sensitivity towards materials.” (Marie Maertens)
Javier Carro Temboury (Madrid, 1997) is based in Paris since 2015.
