“Hiding this obscure object of desire… a pleasure” explores the zones of friction between art and the obscene, where the visibility of the body becomes a political act. By bringing into view what is usually kept hidden, Elisabeth Bakambamba Tambwe shifts the body from the status of an object to that of a language.
This unveiling does not seek provocation but inquiry:
what does a body say when it ceases to be decoration and becomes discourse?
