Kunst kann nicht den Weg in den Postkapitalismus weisen. Wer das von ihr erwartet, schränkt sie und ihre Handlungsmacht unnötig ein. Das Beste, das man von Kunst erwarten kann, ist das Aushalten und Steigern von Widersprüchen und der Widerstand gegen vorschnelle Identifikation. Die Ausstellung versammelt Arbeiten, die weniger als abgeschlossene Werke auftreten denn als Modelle oder Stellvertreter. Sie führen künstlerische Formgebung und den gesellschaftlichen Produktionsapparat aufeinander und legen Rechenschaft über ihre Eingebundenheit in Wirtschaft und Technologie ab.

Art cannot forge a path into post-capitalism. To expect this would mean to unnecessarily confine art and its agency. The best thing to ask of art is to maintain and intensify contradictions and to resist rash identification. This exhibition gathers works that present
themselves as models or stand-ins rather than as completed works. They let artistic design collide with industrial production and give account of their embeddedness in economics and technology.
