Canemorto: The Radiant Van

On Thursday, June 11, from 6 PM, HALLE13 welcomes the infamous CANEMORTO trio for an evening around The Radiant Van – the world’s most powerful good-luck device.
Commissioned for Turin’s Luci d’Artista, the trio transformed a classic work van into a moving magic lantern and carried it across Europe — from Turin to Venice to Ljubljana, and now to Vienna — filming and performing along the way.
Together with critic and curator Antonio Grulli, the three anonymous Italian artists will present the project’s final outcomes: a book published by Bruno and a short film by Marco Proserpio, with music by Matteo Pansana.
CANEMORTO has worked anonymously since 2007 — masked, speaking an unknown language, painting as one in devotion to a canine deity called Txakurra. The van’s sides are engraved with 18 symbols from the white-magic tradition, turning it into a mobile talisman that radiates auspicious, apotropaic energy wherever it goes.

The Radiant Van is conceived for Luci d’Artista under the curatorial direction of Antonio Grulli and made possible by the support of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture (MiC), within the framework of the Italian Council program (14th edition, 2025).
