Soil Fiction is a collection of essays that poetic and mythical seeks to describe earthly matter in movements from market economic cynicism towards ecological sensitivity. An unfinished erosion of female self, lost causes and cursed lands. To leave places behind and to be displaced. A tireless search for a ground while being haunted.
PERNILLE CHRISTENSEN
Pernille Christensen is a danish architect, landscape artist, researcher and writer. Her practice is situated in the interdisciplinary field of art, architecture and language exploring conditions of earthly movements, material displacement, memory foam and formations of terrains in transitions, through mythical fictions, chaotic carthographies and spatial choreographies at the interface of poetics, politics and geologies. Her work is operating with architectural methodologies seeking unfinished, open-ended and intimate phenomenas as catalysts for spatial and sensitive relationships with worlds and matter.
A framework deeply connected to her own nomadic movements of place and mind, searching for a ground (in the voids of professions, being woman, sense of belonging, eroding ecologies and economics) while being haunted (by societal structures, capitalism, digital overwrite and pollution).
