Please join us on Saturday, Sept. 27 outside the Palais des Beaux Arts Wien for a round of tryouts and conversations about upcoming commissioned works for our online collection.
At 16h we’ll meet across from the Palais at Rudolf von Alt Platz for a series of exercises and conversations: a listening piece by Ricarda Denzer, picnic blankets as a social score with Guilherme Maggessi, fabric pages with Studio Hassan, and advice from Flo Karl Berger on how to access the oldest tree in Vienna.
Around 17.30h, we’ll walk across the canal to the 2nd District, following the route traced in Walking / Endnotes, for the book launch at Josh Müller’s studio. The publication, developed in collaboration between Catherine Parayre (2025–26 PdBA Artist in Residence) and Josh Müller, and published by the Salon für Kunstbuch, extends their 2024 commission for our online collection (#51). We’ll look at the book, the materials surrounding its process, and share a conversation with the artists and publisher.

She writes. He photographs.
They communicate across the Atlantic by email, no phone. She begins by sending an essay (by Perec). He replies with five photographs and a list. Months pass. She sends an essay, he answers with sixteen images. The result is a dialogue that unfolds as an essay and a sequence of photographs—commissioned in 2024 by the Palais des Beaux Arts Wien for the online collection (#51).
The project first launched as a reading performance and intervention outside of the Palais. This book documents the process, remixing text, visuals, and photographs into a printed form.
