17(Joy) Intermission: Joy as Resistance

Lombardi—Kargl is pleased to announce an intermin chapter within the ongoing project 17(Joy) and the opening of 17(Joy) Intermission: Joy as Resistance at Schleifmühlgasse 17.
“Playfulness becomes a subtle act of resistance, a reminder that we are, despite everything, in this together.”
wendelien van oldenborgh and the Concept Class from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna take over the space of Joy(17) and explore various approaches to engage with a gallery space. The students will enter a dialogue with each other and the audiences inside and outside the location through performance, film screenings, community meetings and exhibiting. The intermission is structured in three chapters, each offering a different focus and a distinct perspective on the focus of joy as resistance.
