IoA Sliver Gallery - Mark Foster Gage

Mark Foster Gage is at the forefront of a new generation of architects working to combine architectural practice with the innovative use of today’s most advanced technologies. The work of his firm, Gage/Clemenceau Architects ranges from large-scale architectural projects, to a dress for Lady Gaga, and from new store concepts for the fashion company Diesel, to interactive environments for Intel Corporation. Mr. Gage’s writings have been featured in numerous academic publications including Log, the Journal of Architectural Education, A+U, Perspecta, and Architectural Design (AD). He recently published the piece Project Mayhem in the Architectural Association publication Fulcrum which has initiated a continued public debate with Patrick Schumacher on the subject of Parametricism in Architecture. Gage’s work has been featured in the in New York Times, Vogue, Wired, Surface, Harper’s Bazaar, Mark, Frame, Fast Company and more. He was guest editor, with Florencia Pita, for the fall 2009 issue of Log #17. He recently released two new books, the first with Greg Lynn, entitled Composites, Software and Surfaces: Towards a High Performance Architecture, and the second, Aesthetic Theory: Essential Texts, published by W.W. Norton & Company. In addition to his work as a principal with Gage/Clemenceau Architects, he also serves as the Assistant Dean at the Yale University School of Architecture.
